5 reasons the Colts lost

- Karma - You don't decide that you will rest your players and not go for the undefeated season. First off you rob the fans who bought the tickets. Secondly, you royally piss off the karma gods.
- Peyton Manning - When push came to shove he threw the INT. He didn't lead them back, but into the history books as the team that couldn't get it done. I was ready this year to admit he is the best in the league and our home team QB is on the downside of his illustrious career. But now seeing Manning choke on the world's biggest stage, I go back to my original thought that he is one of the best regular season QBs ever but not in the playoffs. And that my friend is where you seperate the wheat from the chaff.
- Drew Brees - I always thought he was good not great. Watching him in the playoffs, he is the best in the league right now. No, he doesn't rifle it in, but wow the guy is accurate. And he showed he was very good in the playoffs, where as I said above the true greats seperate themselves from "regular season" guys.
- City of New Orleans - They flat out deserved a break. They were nearly washed off the planet. Your luck doesn't get much worse than the devastation they faced. Truthfully they should have all left and never came back. But they gutted it out and showed a grit you have to respect. The Saints mirrored that grit, and gave them a team and a story for the ages.
- Sean Payton - The really great coaches think differently. That onside kick was amazing. This guy wasn't going to play conservative, he was going to play to win. It looked early like they were going to get blown out. Then they couldn't get in the end zone at the end of the half. But they came right out to start the second half with the onside kick and turned the tide.
